Intellectual Property Rights and Global Patent Protection

Intellectual property (IP) rights, such as patents and trademarks, are territorial and are granted under a country’s domestic laws. Obtaining IP rights for its own goods and services can help businesses to discourage others from misappropriating their IP. Moreover, importing and selling products in a domestic or foreign market without knowledge of competitor’s IP rights may result in costly patent or trademark litigation, and the uncertainty about the IP issues involved may discourage businesses from selling their products abroad. A well-planned global IP management may be the solution.

Falk Ewers is a founding member of Ewers & Hasselmann PLLC, an intellectual property law firm located in Washington, DC, which represents a diverse group of clients in intellectual property matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The event is an excellent opportunity to network with other members of the German and international business communities of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. A light lunch will be served.
