From March 27-31 2017, a delegation of 13 German manufacturers and suppliers from the aerospace industry will spend five days in the Southeastern USA. Participants will take part in a product presentation event in Atlanta, as well as conduct individual business meetings and meet with industry-relevant companies around the Southern states.

With this delegation, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie; BMWi) is supporting the foreign trade activities of small-to-medium sized enterprises (SMEs) from the industry through targeted development and expansion of business contacts in the USA. The purpose of the trade mission is to gauge business opportunities in the Southeastern aerospace industry, as well as establish long-term market potential for the German participants.

According to FDI Magazine, the USA ranked as the number 1 country for aerospace investment between 2009 and 2015. PwC also ranked the USA in first place in its "Aerospace Manufacturing Attractiveness Ranking 2015", due to its market size, moderate cost structure, and technological expertise. In the Southeastern USA in particular, an increasingly concentrated industry cluster of aircraft manufacturers and related suppliers exists.

Delegation Program

The program for the delegation participants will consist of:

  • Individual B2B meetings with specialists and executives from US-companies
  • Technical presentations of the companies' products to an audience consisting of representatives and multipliers from the industry
  • Networking with potential business contracts, distribution partners, and decision makers from the sector
  • On-site visits directly with potential customers

On Tuesday, March 28, the delegation participants will present their products and services to provide audience insight into the state of the German aerospace industry and facilitate discussions about opportunities for cooperation. Additionally, guest speakers such as Mr. Jan Bode, Aerospace Division of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, Ms. Sunitha Vegerla, General Manager of RECARO Aircraft Seating Americas, and Mr. Marc Vibes, Director Procurement, Airbus Americas, Inc. will provide further insights into the industry.

Seize this opportunity to engage with German suppliers about the latest innovations and technological trends in the aviation industry, and how they enable their customers to succeed and thrive.
