German American Business Conference "The Future of Ports"

The GACC South hosted a German American Business Conference with the title "The Future of Ports" on April 4, 2017 in Houston.

The conference featured German and U.S. industry and policy experts of the port industry. Our keynote speakers included decision makers representing German and American companies as well as representatives from leading research institutions, government agencies and industry associations. In addition, several German companies in the field of automation technology attended to establish business relationships with local companies. 

The conference attendees learned about: 

  • Innovations in automation technology that German manufacturers use to stay competitive
  • Current opportunities and programs in the United States
  • Innovative technologies and best practices to make port processes more energy efficient
  • Synergies and partnership opportunities with our visiting German companies
  • Networking opportunities with American and German industry and policy experts
