With more than 100 participants, this year's 2nd Germany Florida Solar Energy Conference was very successful. The speakers from Germany and the United States spoke both about the current status of solar technology and the poltical framework as well as future developments. A new feature of the conference was a panel discussion about feed-in tariffs for solar-generated electricity in the USA, specifically in Florida. Particularly appealing was the decision by the City of Gainesville in Florida to introduce feed-in tariffs beginning in 2009. A lively discussion was held that touched on how purposeful feed-in tariffs are and why Florida still has not introduced a statewide feed-in tariff.

The GACC South in Atlanta, GA promotes and supports bilateral trade between Germany and the US since 1978.
