This Luncheon will feature Mr. Jörg Mayer, the Managing Director of the Renewable Energies Agency in Berlin, Germany. The Agency’s major task is to communicate the advantages of a sustainable energy supply on the basis of renewable energies. Jörg Mayer will speak about the current state of Germany’s market for Bioenergy. Furthermore, he will talk about current trends and technology developments in Germany. This luncheon is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) as part of the Renewable Energies Export Initiative. This is an excellent opportunity for German and American businesses to gain insight into the bioenergy market in the US and Germany.

Since August 2007 Jörg Mayer has been engaged on behalf of the nationwide active, semi-public Renewable Energies Agency, which is sponsored by the German government, as well as by all of the associations and market-leading companies in the German branch. The aim is to inform the media and decision-makers about the potential of regenerative forms of energy and their requirements for development. One of the organization’s patrons is Prof. Dr. Klaus Töpfer, former Environment Minister and former Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).
