Atlanta, September 22, 2023 - BMW Manufacturing received this year’s South Carolina Gateway Award for investing nearly $12.4 billion in its South Carolina operations since 1992. And with producing more than 1,500 vehicles each day, BMW Manufacturing is the largest BMW Group plant in the world.
ENGESER USA Corp is this year’s Small Business recipient. The world’s leading cable specialist, opened its first facility in North America, investing $1.5 Million, utilizing modern technologies to produce cost-optimized, high-quality cable harnesses.
The South Carolina Gateway Award Reception was hosted in Greenville, SC on the Rooftop Terrace at the Bank of America Building. The Carolinas almost 140 German companies, making Germany one of the top sources of international job opportunities in the Carolinas. This is one of the primary reasons why we selected our recipients for the South Carolina Gateway Award.
The Gateway Award is a signature event that has been taking place in the Carolinas for almost two decades. Companies with tremendous contributions to the German-American business community in the Carolinas through job creation, investment, and philanthropy need to be recognized, and GACC South does so on a yearly basis.
