WG Plastics Technology Corporation plans to invest in Abbeville County, S.C. over the next five years.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - WG Plastics Technology Corporation plans to add operations in South Carolina with a new facility in Abbeville County.The $2.7 million investment is expected to create 50 new jobs over the next five years.

Led by German entrepreneurs Wolfgang Gutmann and Uli Wellhaeuser, WG Plastics is a plastic injection molding operation that supplies the automotive industry. 

"WG Plastics manufactures premium parts for premium customers, and we are proud our operations will be calling Abbeville County home," said Gutmann.

WG Plastics' Abbeville County operations will be located at Lakelands Commerce Park's Incubator building before the construction of a dedicated facility begins in 2018.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved a $200,000 grant to Abbeville County to assist with the costs of real property improvements.
