New chapter director revamps GACC South Florida chapter

TAMPA BAY (May 6, 2016) – President & CEO of Manitowoc Foodservice Inc., Hubertus Muehlhaeuser, took over as director of Florida’s chapter of the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern United States, Inc., the GACC South, Monday, April 18.

“I am honored to have been chosen to lead Florida’s chapter of the GACC South,” said Muehlhaeuser. “As director, I intend to do everything within my power to grow the German American business community in Florida.”

Mr. Muehlhaeuser moved to the Tampa Bay area in August last year to serve as CEO of Manitowoc Foodservice Inc., a global leader in professional foodservice equipment with 18 manufacturing facilities and 23 brands. He led the successful spin-off of the business from The Manitowoc Company Inc., a global maker of cranes headquartered in Wisconsin.

“It is a pleasure to welcome Hubertus to the great state of Florida,” said President and CEO of the GACC South, Martina Stellmaszek. “We are excited to add such a successful businessman to our team.”

The GACC South offers support to anyone involved or interested in doing business in the southeastern U.S. and Germany, including Florida.

“We already have a large community of businesses with interests in both the US and Germany and it is evident that an active network of business leaders that exchange ideas, trends and business opportunities from both sides of the Atlantic will benefit each member of the chamber”, said Muehlhaeuser. “I do hope that we can also attract some German companies to establish a presence in the State of Florida and vice versa.”

The GACC South’s services include transition aid between the southern U.S. and Germany, a membership directory of more than 700 German and U.S. companies, a talent search network, more than 100 regional yearly events and a German-English, bilingual team.

An executive luncheon to introduce Mr. Muehlhaeuser to the Florida German American business community will take place June 6, 2016 at the company´s headquarters and technology center in New Port Richey.
