The GACC South welcomes new North Carolina Chapter Director, Dr. Henning O. Bruns, General Manager at Daimler Trucks North America

On the GACC South New Year’s Reception of the North Carolina Chapter on January 6th 2017, Dr. Christian Kissinger officially stepped down from his duties after 5 years of dedicated and extraordinary service to the chapter. We would like to take the opportunity once more to thank Dr. Kissinger for his outstanding dedication and commitment to the Chapter and the GACC South which is reflected by the growth of the Chapter while under his leadership.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Henning O. Bruns, General Manager at Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), will become the new North Carolina GACC South Chapter Director.

Dr. Bruns joined Daimler in 1991 and has held a number of management roles within the company in Germany, the U.S, and Brazil. From 2001 until 2006 Bruns was responsible for several truck launches as Product Line Manager for Mercedes-Benz trucks and he was appointed General Manager and Vice President of Operations for Detroit Diesel Corporation in 2007, a position he held until 2012. Before taking over as General Manager in Cleveland in May 2015, Bruns served three years as Head of Product Planning and Strategy for Daimler Trucks focusing on new truck markets and supporting Daimler’s China joint venture with Auman Trucks. DTNA employs around 5,400 employees in North Carolina and is the fourth foreign-based employer in the state.

The GACC South- North Carolina Chapter supports the German American business community in the state. Because of Dr. Bruns extensive international business experience and his expert knowledge within the manufacturing sector the GACC South is excited to have Dr. Bruns lead the important and growing Chapter.
