BMW business leader to speak at S.C. State on Wednesday
Kategorie: GACC South News, Global AHK News, Global DEint NewsSouth Carolina State University business students will learn about effective corporate communications strategies at noon Wednesday in Belcher Hall’s fourth floor auditorium as part of the university’s Executive Speaker Series.
S.C. State alumna Sky Foster, manager of corporate communications for BMW Manufacturing Company in Spartanburg, will speak on “Corporate Communication: A Strategic Management Function.”
Foster began her career with BMW in 1993 and has served in various capacities with the company, including manager of recruiting, compensation/payroll and working structures, corporate leadership and technical training, leadership assessment, executive and management coaching, succession management and intercultural language programs. Through the BMW Global Network, she has traveled to such places as South Africa, England, Germany, Austria, Italy and Canada.
Before joining BMW, Foster was a human resources training manager with Robert Bosch Corporation in Anderson. She also designed and instructed plant-wide training programs for Kemet Electronics in Greenville.
Foster earned a bachelor’s degree from South Carolina State University and a master’s degree from North Carolina Central University in Durham, N.C. Some of her professional affiliations include the Urban League Business Advisory Board, the United Way Palmetto Society, COMPASS of Carolina Advisory Board, Greenville Technical College Buck Mickel Center Advisory Board and Franciscan Forum. She is also a former member of the South Carolina State University board of trustees.
