Building Bridges Between Industry and Higher Education

Networking Event

Progress is based on innovation and research. Co-operation and partnerships between industry and institutes of higher education are important components of this development. The exchange between businesses and academia does more than simply help find solutions and answers needed to spur further advancement; it also supports the development of an adequate workforce. While businesses are challenged to continually develop their products, they also need to continually develop their workforce. While employers need employees with new and different skills, employee expectations towards employers have changed as well. Businesses need to work hard to remain attractive and competitive.

By bringing together German companies and young professionals from Sam Houston State University, this event focuses on workforce needs in the greater Houston area, where trade with Germany has nearly doubled between 2005 and 2015.
