About the Speakers:

Laura Lane- UPS President, Global Public Affairs

Laura is a former US trade negotiator and was involved in securing passage of the NAFTA agreement when it was first negotiated in the 1990’s. She also served as a US diplomat in Bogota, Colombia and Kigali Rwanda. In 1994, Laura Lane led the evacuation of over 250 Americans and countless others from Rwanda during the start of the Rwandan Genocide.   Later, she returned as a political advisor to U.S. forces, providing humanitarian relief to Rwandan refugees.  Prior to joining UPS, Laura served as the Managing Director and head of international government affairs at Citigroup and Vice President for global public policy with Time Warner.

Jodi Hanson Bond- Senior Vice President of the Americas, International Division, U.S. Chamber of Commerce

Ms. Bond’s portfolio includes executive management of the U.S.-Argentina Business Council, the Brazil-U.S. Business Council, the U.S.-Mexico CEO Dialogue, and the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and the Caribbean (AACCLA). Bond is also President of the Chamber’s U.S.-Colombia and U.S.-Cuba Business Councils.  Prior to joining the Chamber, Bond was vice president of Global Government Relations and Country Management for the Motorola Corporation. Before that, she was appointed deputy assistant secretary at the U.S. Department of Energy and held positions with the law firms of Hopkins & Sutter and Foley & Lardner, the U.S. House of Representatives, and the Washington State House of Representatives.
