According to the U.S. government-sponsored LIFT Institute (Institute for Lightweight Materials) in Detroit, lightweight construction will be an inevitable part of the future production and manufacturing sector. In 2020, it is estimated that about 200,000 tons of carbon fiber will be produced globally, almost twice as much as in 2012. The U.S. produces 30% of the carbon fibers produced worldwide and 75% of the growth is attributable to the automotive and aviation industries.
Commissioned by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S., Inc. (GACC South) in cooperation with the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest (GACC Midwest) and SBS Systems for Business Solutions, is organizing and hosting a virtual delegation for German companies in the lightweighting sector. The digital delegation will take place from October 26th – 30th, 2020, and is geared towards German suppliers of lightweight materials or corresponding production technologies looking to establish themselves in the U.S. automotive and aviation industries. The delegation is part of the BMWi Market Development Program for SMEs.
We invite you to join our digital business delegation and take the opportunity to network and connect with German companies in the lightweighting industry. As part of this format, a series of webinars and virtual one-on-one meetings will be organized.
Why should your company participate?
- Meet with German suppliers of lightweight materials or corresponding production technologies
- Discover cutting edge technologies and new collaboration opportunities with German-based companies without logistical effort from the office or home office
- Participate in virtual networking with potential business contacts, sales partners, and decision-makers
- Product presentations by German companies in the form of a webinar
The digital delegation is a project-based funding initiative, carried out on behalf of the BMWi, as part of the BMWi Market Development Program for SMEs. The aim of the project is to support German SMEs to develop or expand existing business and business relations in the U.S. and to get exposure on the U.S. market. In advance of the virtual trip, the German participants receive specific information on the lightweighting industry and market situation as well as the legal and tax framework. In two virtual, subject-specific presentation events moderated by the hosts, the German delegation participants will present their products, services, and potential areas of collaboration. Our German delegation participants are further interested in scheduling individual appointments with US-based companies to discuss synergies and potential business partnerships. If you are interested in arranging a meeting with one of the German companies between October 26th – 30th, 2020, please contact Catherine Malone, Senior Manager, Consulting Services (email@example.com).
Take advantage of this opportunity to experience the newest production and process technologies from the German lightweighting industry and connect to new business partners in Germany.
