GACC South Holds Inaugural Ceremony for Apprenticeship Participants
Three participants begin training program as part of GACC South’s Skill Initiative
Dallas, TX. July 30, 2019 — The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern United States (GACC South) has announced the inaugural Signing Ceremony for participants in its Dallas-based Skills Initiative Apprenticeship Program. The ceremony will take place Tuesday, August 13th, 2019, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Autoscope European Car Repair in Dallas, Texas. Family members, company leaders, local officials, and mentors will join the new apprentices as they sign their program acceptance letters and take the first step toward joining a highly skilled, globally competitive workforce.
The apprenticeship model is a time-tested program in the German dual education system. Private companies and publicly-funded vocational schools partner together to provide robust training to young Germans. Thanks to this unique system, the country enjoys low unemployment and high skill levels among workers without a university degree. The Apprenticeship Program helps companies grow their workforce while trainees gain high-tech manufacturing and logistical skills to begin their careers.
Following the success of the program in other cities, GACC South is honored to present its first class of Dallas-based apprentices. The Inaugural Ceremony for Apprenticeship Participants is sponsored by Wunderbar Together, the Year of German-American friendship.
