Energy Export Initiative

Supporting the German federal government in its energy dialogue with the U.S.

With the Energy Export Initiative, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) supports small and medium-sized German companies in the energy sector with accessing foreign markets. The initiative is aimed at companies that offer energy solutions in the fields of renewable energies, energy efficiency, smart grids or storage.

The export initiative aims to more strongly position German energy technologies and to broaden the awareness of German technologies and German “know how” internationally, in order to increase their market potential. The Energy Export Initiative is geared to the respective export phases by focusing on the provision of information, the establishment of business contacts, as well as foreign marketing.

As part of the Energy Export Initiative, business trips to the USA are organized during which participants can hold direct cooperation talks with potential American partner companies.

The Energy Export Initiative also offers informative events in Germany which are designed to serve as the perfect preparation for companies' export plans. Here, experts from the field provide an overview of market opportunities and industry-specific sales potential.

In addition, innovation seminars offer German companies the opportunity to expand their network of contacts at American universities. This makes it possible to bridge the gap between science and business for the long-term.
