Since the partnership was formally signed in 2000 by then-Mayor Bob Coble and Kaiserslautern Lord Mayor Bernhard Deubig—following the state-to-state connection between Rhineland-Palatinate and South Carolina in 1997—the relationship has fostered countless exchanges and collaborations. From artist residencies and student programs to the creation of the SC Fraunhofer USA Alliance, this partnership continues to strengthen cultural, academic, and economic ties.
On the eve of German Unity Day, the celebration will bring together community leaders, friends, and partners to honor the achievements of the past 25 years and look ahead to the decades of collaboration to come.
Special guests include Consul General of Germany in Atlanta Melanie Moltmann and Mayor Bob Coble.
