The J-1 Visa is a U.S. exchange visitor visa that enables individuals from around the world to participate in internship and training programs in the United States. As an official visa sponsor, the German-American Chambers of Commerce (GACC) – including GACC South – guide and support candidates throughout the entire process.

With the  MyJ1 Visa Program, companies and applicants are guided through the entire J-1 visa process. GACC South provides comprehensive local support, from the initial orientation to the application process.

 

For visa sponsorship, GACC South collaborates with GACC Midwest. 

Program Highlights

Visa Categories:

  • Intern: Up to 12 months
  • Trainee: Up to 18 months
    Each category is tailored to the applicant’s education level and professional experience.

The sponsorship application includes submitting documentation such as:

  • Proof of enrollment or degree
  • Valid health insurance
  • Letters of reference
  • A detailed training or internship plan for DS-2019 approval
