ATLANTA, GA. – October 5, 2026 - The German-American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S. (GACC South) has named Lukas Rohleder as its new President and CEO, effective November 1, 2026.
A native of Saxony, Germany, Lukas Rohleder has served as CEO of the Dresden Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Dresden) since 2022, where he has worked closely with companies across a broad range of industries to support economic growth, international business development, and regional competitiveness.
“Lukas brings a deep understanding of the transatlantic business environment and a proven track record of supporting companies,” said Crispin Teufel, Chairman of the Board of GACC South. “He is exceptionally well qualified to navigate today’s evolving market environment, strengthen our organization, and further expand GACC South’s services for companies on both sides of the Atlantic.”
As President and CEO, Lukas will lead GACC South’s activities across its 11-state region and oversee the organization’s continued efforts to strengthen German-American business ties.
“My goal is to further strengthen GACC South’s presence throughout the entire region and deepen our engagement with members and companies across all 11 states,” said Lukas. “The Southern United States continues to be one of the most attractive regions for German industry. I want to build on that momentum and encourage even more companies to explore the opportunities that come with establishing and expanding a strong U.S. presence.”
Lukas studied law at Humboldt University of Berlin before beginning his career working for a member of the German Bundestag. He later held leadership positions in industry associations representing the aviation and energy sectors in Berlin and Dresden before joining IHK Dresden.
He succeeds Matthias Hoffmann, who has taken on the role of Executive Director of the German-Thai Chamber of Commerce.
