Young professionals, students, interns, and members of Atlanta’s German-American and broader international community recently came together at the GACC South office for an evening of conversation, networking, and new connections.

The event welcomed a diverse group, including students from Georgia Tech and Georgia State University, international interns, German expats, representatives from other European chambers, and Americans interested in German culture and transatlantic exchange.

While Atlanta offers many professional events, attendees noted that there are still relatively few opportunities specifically designed for young professionals. The feedback throughout the evening showed a clear interest in more spaces where early-career professionals can meet, exchange experiences, and become part of an international community.

The variety of backgrounds and perspectives represented made the evening especially valuable. Participants connected across industries, universities, cultures, and career stages, demonstrating the importance of creating accessible opportunities for young professionals to build both personal and professional relationships.

Based on the positive response, GACC South plans to continue developing programming that brings young professionals together and strengthens connections within the German-American business community.

For students and recent graduates interested in gaining international professional experience in the United States, the GACC J-1 Visa Program offers internship and training opportunities with U.S. companies.
